Jim Hay, the owner of Hays Marine Transport owned and operated a service facility in Portland, Oregon for 18 years. There is not much he has not seen in his day.
When talking to Jim you will quickly discover he has been around boats all his life, both powerboats and sailboats. He personally built a 40 foot sailboat and cruised it extensively.
When performing a boat transport logistics are half the battle in moving powerboats and sailboats from one point to another. We are well versed and keep up on the requirements of the individual state DOT regulations and the Federal DOT regulations we are subject to in transporting oversize boats. You can rest assured knowing we use all the proper pilot cars and permits to ensure a safe move.
We strive to maintain a tight schedule when performing any relocation of a boat. When we are scheduled to pickup your boat for transportation we do all that is necessary to be there on time. For some reason we are running behind, you will be notified as well as the marina responsible for loading your boat for transport.
We understand that when considering a boat transport it is a very stressful decision and our goal is to make the experience of a powerboat or sailboat transport as stress free as possible. Although we specialize in transporting yachts, we treat all of the boats we transport as though they were yachts, no matter what size they are.
Your boat will be covered by our insurance while in transport. Minimum coverage is $250,000.00 and can go up to as high as $2,000,000.00 if needed to ensure your boat is insured while it is in transit.
