 Yacht is a relative term used to describe a Boat that is luxury based. When the term Yacht is used, it conjures up visions of a very large Boat. We make every effort to give accurate and precise quotes when we quote a Yacht Transport. We include all permits, route surveys, police escorts. We do not charge a fuel surcharge. We feel fuel surcharges are for companies that do not know how to manage their trucks or know how to quote a transport. There are times when the individual states that we apply for permits from add stipulations in the provisions that are not known at the time of the quote. This can be influenced by road construction, time of year etc.
When Transporting Yachts, both SailBoats and PowerBoats that are oversize in dimension, some of the logistics and provisions we are required to comply with are as such. We are always required to used pilot cars and pole cars. We need to comply with the curfews given to us as far as when and where we can travel while Transporting a oversize Yacht. This once again is dictated by the governing agency issuing the permit, be it the state or city.
There are times when it deems it necessary to remove the fly bridge or radar arch to reduce the overall height when Transporting Yachts. Overall height is one of our major concerns with Transporting PowerBoats. When the overall height, meaning when loaded on the Transport Trailer, can be reduced it not only makes it safer, but can dramatically reduce the costs of the Transport.
